Job summary

Assemble Cinemas in Manhasset, NY is seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to support the Theater & Operations Manager. You will supervise shifts, manage staff, and ensure service standards from open to close while working on the floor with the team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or lead experience in cinema, hospitality, restaurant, or retail operations — required.
• Experience with cash handling, register reconciliation, and POS systems.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to direct a team while working alongside it.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required; open and close shifts as scheduled.
• Must be 18 years of age or older; ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as manager on duty during assigned shifts, with full responsibility for operations, staff, and guest experience in the Theater & Operations Manager's absence.
• Open and close the theater, including cash handling, register reconciliation, safe counts, and end‑of‑day reporting.
• Supervise, direct, and support shift leads, concessions staff, ushers, and porters during assigned shifts.
• Uphold service, cleanliness, and presentation standards throughout the venue, stepping in to clean, run concessions, and work the floor as needed.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and implement appropriate service recovery.
• Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and coaching of hourly staff.
