Job summary

Second Stage Theater in New York, NY is seeking a part-time Front of House Staff member to support the Diamond Theater at Pershing Square Signature Center. You will help with ticket scanning, seating assistance, and creating a welcoming environment for theater audiences.

Work includes pre-show duties like preparing programs and ensuring FOH readiness, plus late seating and safety duties during performances, under the guidance of the House Manager and Operations team.

Qualifications

• Experience in Front of House or similar customer service preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and calm under pressure with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to positively represent Second Stage Theater.
• FDNY Certificate of Fitness required or willingness to obtain within 2 weeks of hire.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Interest in theater and contemporary plays.
• Commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare programs for guest distribution.
• Examine FOH areas to ensure readiness for audience arrival.
• Scan tickets and greet patrons.
• Assist patrons with locating their seats.
• Help with late seating at curtain.
• Participate in building/guest safety during performances.
• Support House Manager and Theater Operations as assigned.
