GLOBAL LANGUAGE STRATEGIES is seeking experienced Thai-to-English and/or English-to-Thai translators and editors for a remote, ongoing freelance contractor role. Work focuses on a U.S. govt client translating vital records, legal documents, and academic transcripts.

Candidates must be native Thai and near-native English, hold a translation degree, and have 3–5 years of related experience. Strong deadlines, reliability, and excellent communication are required.

This is a remote position. Thai to English Translator and/or Editor – (Remote – ongoing basis) Freelance Independent Contractor *** Must be a U.S. citizen willing to undergo a Tier 1 background investigation, including fingerprinting.

Job Description

We seek experienced Thai-to-English and/or English-to-Thai translators and/or editors to join our team. The work is for our U.S. govt client and requires full U.S. citizenship to translate vital records, legal documents, official certificates, and academic transcripts. The role will consist of translating and editing various types of documentation.

Requirements

• 1. A native speaker of Thai and near-native English.
• 2. Bachelor’s degree in translation or an equivalent qualification.
• 3. A minimum of three to five years of proven experience as a translator and/or editor.
• 4. Reliable, able to meet deadlines, and highly productive.
• 5. A team player with excellent communication skills.
• 6. Must be equipped with up-to-date Windows software.
• 7. Excellent formatting skills.
• 8. Comfortable with one-to-two-day deadlines.
• 9. Able to provide per-word rates for either translations or editing or both.
• 10. Willing to accept assignments as needed.
