Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a world-class Thin Film Transistor (TFT) panel design engineer in Cupertino, CA to design, develop and launch next-generation display technologies for Apple products.

The role focuses on TFT panel architecture, device design, modeling, simulation, and on-glass IC design, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors, with travel to support projects.

Qualifications

• BS and at least 10 years of related industry experience.
• Hands-on experience and proven track record in display design (OLED/LCD) or related electronics.
• Ability to perform circuit layout, parasitic RC extraction, modeling and SPICE simulation.
• Understanding of TFT and panel processes.

The TFT panel design team is responsible for delivering the advanced TFT panel designs and technologies to enable the world’s best display performance in Apple Products. Individual will serve as a focal point in architecting and developing the total TFT pixel and panel designs. This includes display panel modeling, simulation, integrated circuit-on-glass design, panel architecture, and whole panel function simulation.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
• Hands-on experience, in-depth technical knowledge, and proven track record in the design and development for display (OLED, LCD) or related electronics.
• Ability to perform circuit layout, parasitic RC extraction, circuit modeling and SPICE simulation
• Understanding the basic TFT and panel process

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. degree Electrical Engineering or closely related field plus 4 years of TFT or related industry experience
• Experience in display touch
• Experience in measuring and characterizing IV and CV of TFT devices
• Experience in developing, designing and manufacturing high volume display
• Experience in characterizing panel optical and electrical performance
• Experience in gate, column driver IC and other display electronics designs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
