Job summary

Apple Inc. in Cupertino, California is hiring a world-class circuit design engineer to own display panel circuits from concept to mass production. You will drive pixel and panel design, parasitic extraction, modeling, and AI-assisted design tool development for next-generation displays.

You will collaborate with EE/Silicon, Touch, Sensing, and Mechanical teams to define interfaces and ensure successful integration across devices. A BS with 10+ years and Cadence/Virtuoso experience are required.

Apple is looking for a world-class circuit design engineer to design, develop and launch the next generation of technologies for the mobile, laptop and desktop displays in Apple products. The display panel design team is responsible for delivering the advanced panel circuits, designs and technologies to enable the world’s best display performance. Individual will take full ownership of a display panel from proof-of-concept to mass production, working with teams across the company, serving as a focal point in architecting and developing display circuits including pixels, driving circuits and other designs-on-panel. This includes circuit layout/optimization, circuit simulation, whole panel architecture/simulation, co-existence design/simulations with other components (sensing/cameras/others), and the development of AI-assisted circuit/layout design tools.

Description

• Display panel architecture scoping and definition
• Display pixel and panel design, layout and parasitic parameter extraction
• Display pixel and panel modeling, characterization, and validation
• Failure mode analysis, root cause investigation, and problem solving for mass-production display development
• Integration of new transistor technologies into display panel circuits
• Contribute to the development of custom AI-assisted tools for circuit and layout analysis
• Collaboration with EE/Silicon teams for definition of signal interfaces and new compensation blocks required to drive display panel
• Collaboration with Touch teams to design touch sensors and model/analyze touch-display coexistence
• Collaborate with Sensing teams for integration of sensors behind display panels
• Collaboration with Mechanical Engineering/Product Design teams on panel peripheral circuit and border design for narrow-border display technology
• Collaboration with external vendors for display manufacturing
• International business travel to support project implementation

Minimum Qualifications

• BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
• Strong command of Electrical Engineering circuit design fundamentals (analog and digital)
• Experience with Cadence/Virtuoso modeling and simulation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in technical knowledge of displays or related electronics
• Understanding of Thin-Film Transistors (TFTs) and display panel process
• Experience in characterizing electrical performance of electrical circuits
• Experience in integrating AI and AI agents in circuit design/analysis workflows

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $184,700 and $324,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
