Job description

Printfresh is looking for a highly skilled illustrator and textile designer to create original prints and embroideries for our Sleepwear and Apparel collections. Our print artwork is at the heart of our brand, rich in detail, full of personality, and often a little unexpected.

In this hands‑on creative role, you’ll develop artwork from initial concepts and sketches through finished, production‑ready designs. You’ll bring imaginative storytelling, a strong sense of color, and thoughtful attention to detail to seasonal collections and collaborations.

Working closely with our Creative Leadership, Design, Merchandising and Product Development teams, you’ll balance artistic exploration with commercial needs and production deadlines.

This is a full‑time position, working in our Philadelphia office Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Must be a highly skilled artist and/or illustrator with excellent drawing and painting skills. Artistic hand and point of view must be whimsical and versatile, with the ability to tackle projects varying from over-the-top humorous novelty prints to feminine florals and paisleys.
  • Create original prints for collections created with outside partners, including brand collaborations and licensing, influencers and major department stores.
  • Assist with designing and sourcing trims as needed.
  • Follow the print design calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met and artwork is created, reviewed, and sent out on time
  • Collaboratively brainstorm and pitch concepts for new collections. Build out rough concepts and references for print designs.
  • Manage preparing and presenting seasonal concepts to Buying/Merchandising teams, coordinating with Design to ensure presentation is ready and presented according to seasonal calendars.
  • Work with Design to present final seasonal print assortments to Buying and Merchandising teams, ensuring full‑scale printouts and renderings/mockups are created on time for presentations.
  • Work closely with Buying, Merchandising and Design teams to revise and adjust print collections, ensuring each final print assortment offers a cohesive story, fulfills business needs, and innovates with fun new patterns and ideas.
  • Finalize artwork for factory production, putting prints into repeat, indexing for table screenprinting and completing any file cleanup needed.
  • Create final tech pages for factory‑ready print and embroidery, identifying Pantones, adding detailed instructions and creating printouts.
  • Work with CAD Manager and Design team to send artwork packages and tech packs to overseas vendors in accordance with the T&A calendar.
  • Create seasonal palettes and mood boards to share with Marketing and Graphic Design teams.
  • Stay current on trends that make sense for our brand, following relevant and aspirational creators and sellers to keep informed on what is in the market.
