Responsibilities

• Design and develop original rug collections, patterns, and colorways.
• Create CADs, repeats, artwork, mockups, and presentations for meetings.
• Develop cohesive, commercially relevant collections for retailer needs.
• Explore rug materials, fibers, textures, weaving, tufting, printing techniques.
• Merchandise assortments across patterns, colorways, constructions, sizes, and price points.
• Prepare and review artwork, tech packs, strike-offs, color approvals, and samples.
• Collaborate with overseas factories on material development and design execution.

About the Role

As a Textile Designer - Rugs & Floor Coverings, you will design and develop trend-driven rug collections for major retail accounts. This hands-on role combines original artwork creation, textile design, trend research, and product merchandising to develop commercially appealing collections across various materials, constructions, and price points.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop original rug collections, patterns, textures, motifs, and colorways.
• Create CADs, repeats, artwork, mockups, and presentations for internal and buyer meetings.
• Develop cohesive, commercially relevant collections tailored to retailer needs and price points.
• Explore rug materials, fibers, textures, weaving, tufting, and printing techniques.
• Merchandise assortments across patterns, colorways, constructions, sizes, and price points.
• Prepare and review artwork, tech packs, strike-offs, color approvals, and samples.
• Collaborate with overseas factories on material development, sampling, and design execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Surface Design, Fashion Design, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of work experience in Textile Design, Surface Design, Product Design, or related.
• Strong skills in original artwork creation, pattern development, CADs, and colorways.
• Knowledge of textile materials, construction techniques, and product development.
• Strong understanding of retail merchandising, assortment development, and design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience working with overseas factories and major retailers preferred.
• Strong eye for color, pattern, texture, scale, and emerging trends.
• Portfolio showcasing original textile designs, patterns, and collections required.
