Job summary

Aztec Shops at SDSU is seeking a Full Time Course Materials Buyer to research, determine quantity, price, and terms for textbooks, eBooks, and custom publications for resale or rental in the SDSU Bookstore.

The role requires coordinating with faculty and vendors, managing adoptions, and driving a higher proportion of digital materials while controlling stock levels and ensuring timely purchase orders.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree minimum; 0-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, Google Workspace applications, and Internet Searches.
• Must have the ability to set and manage constantly changing priorities; work under deadlines; well organized; Verba/VitalSource and Netsuite a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day operations and meet deadlines.
• Maintain communications with faculty and department coordinators to obtain requisitions by deadlines.
• Adopt courses to ensure correct Course, Title, Author, and Format; emphasize digital formats when possible.
• Maximize used stock availability and balance with new textbooks to ensure adequate supply.
• Prepare purchase orders for textbooks and custom publications on time.
