Job summary

Michels Power, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead overhead transmission and distribution construction across Texas. You will direct field teams, coordinate resources, and ensure safety and compliance on large-scale power projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to optimize schedules, productivity, and project performance, while mentoring field leadership and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant power construction experience.
• Significant experience in overhead transmission and/or overhead distribution construction.
• Fully qualified tradesperson with knowledge of overhead power construction means, methods, equipment, and field operations.
• Experience supervising field crews and subcontractors.
• OSHA 30 or other applicable advanced safety training.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively, primarily throughout Texas.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, communication, organizational, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, project requirements, work packages, schedules, and field documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct field construction activities for overhead transmission and overhead distribution projects throughout Texas.
• Supervise and assign supervision and foremen based on project requirements.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to support safe and efficient project execution.
• Monitor production, schedules, field performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure construction activities meet quality standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Develop relationships with local unions and ensure labor agreements are followed.
• Train, mentor, and hold field leadership accountable for safety and performance.
