Google LLC in Austin, TX seeks a State and Local Manager for Government Affairs and Public Policy to develop regional policy objectives and drive proactive, campaign-style legislative strategies in Texas to foster a favorable regulatory environment for Google's products and services.

You will partner with tech associations, trade groups, non-profits, and grassroots coalitions to build broad external support for Google's positions on AI, data privacy, youth safety, and energy, while monitoring

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
7 years of experience in policy analysis and campaigns, working on technology issues or policy environments that surround them.
7 years of experience within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.

Responsabilités

Develop regional policy objectives and execute proactive, campaign-style legislative strategies in Texas to establish a positive regulatory environment for Google's products and services.
Partner with tech industry associations, trade groups, non‑profits, and grassroots coalitions to build external support for Google's policy positions on AI, data privacy, youth safety, and energy.
Collaborate with product teams to assess business impacts and draft Google's official positions and advocacy materials on key issues like AI, privacy, and infrastructure.
Educate Texas state legislators, municipal officials, and regulatory staff on Google's local economic impact, products, and policy positions.
