The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in insurance or business, with preferred professional designations. This role emphasizes collaboration with agents and ongoing training to grow underwriting expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration or equivalent experience.
• Insurance designations such as AINS, AU, CIC or CPCU preferred.
• Candidates with higher qualifications may be considered for a more senior role.

Responsabilités

• Shadows underwriters to learn risk appetite and agency relationships.
• Consults underwriters to learn best practices.
• Supports underwriting by reviewing endorsements within authority and analyzing accounts.
• Under supervision, evaluates basic middle market accounts for risk and pricing.
• Analyzes exposure, risk appetite, account premium, and loss history to underwrite policies.
• Maintains proper file documentation for accounts.
• Communicates with agents and provides updates on accounts.
• Collaborates with marketing to build relationships and improve agent experience.
• Attends training sessions and workshops to enhance underwriting knowledge.
