Job summary

Vanguard Maintenance and Electrical, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Fleet Maintenance Manager to lead and oversee fleet operations across Texas.

You will be responsible for building and managing the maintenance program while staying hands-on in the field across work trucks, utility vehicles, telehandlers, aerial lifts, and other equipment. This role requires 3+ years of experience, ASE certification, and willingness to travel throughout Texas.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing diesel powered vehicles, heavy equipment, utility equipment, or commercial fleets.
• ASE certification in automotive or diesel systems, or equivalent related experience.
• Experience servicing work trucks, utility vehicles, telehandlers, aerial lifts, or similar mobile equipment.
• Willingness and ability to travel throughout Texas on a regular basis, including occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full fleet lifecycle, including asset acquisition, onboarding, deployment, maintenance, reassignment, deactivation, and final disposition.
• Manage fleet operations, including preventive maintenance programs, vehicle records, registrations, inspections, insurance, tolling, telematics, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate vehicle procurement, dealership relationships, upfitting, branding, tracking device installation, and fleet deployment activities.
• Administer driver qualification processes and maintain fleet documentation, records, and reporting systems.
• Monitor fleet utilization, maintenance costs, asset performance, and operational trends; provide recommendations to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost control.
• Partner with Operations, Safety, Human Resources, Finance, and external service providers to support business needs and fleet compliance.
• Manage fleet related vendors, service providers, and technology platforms, including telematics, fuel, maintenance, and tracking systems.
• Support fleet budgeting, capital planning, replacement strategies, and asset lifecycle management.
