Job summary

Leasor Crass, P.C. seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney to represent Texas public school districts in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. Based in Mansfield, you will manage cases from intake through resolution, including discovery, motions, hearings, mediation, and trial.

The position is full-time with a hybrid office environment—three days in the office and two remote days—travel statewide to client districts and courts across Texas.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school required.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
• 3–5 years of litigation experience, including discovery and motion practice.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Valid Texas driver's license and ability to travel statewide.

Responsibilities

• Represent school districts in litigation in Texas state and federal courts; employment, civil rights, contracts, torts.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and settlements.
• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, argue motions/hearings.
• Conduct legal research on education law and related issues.
• Advise district administrators on litigation risk, preservation, and strategy.
• Communicate case status to insurance representatives and school district personnel.
• Track time and maintain case files.
