Qualifications

• High School graduation or GED is required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license; must obtain a Texas driver license within 90 days.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Certification as a Peace Officer in the State of Texas is required.
• Applicants must complete fingerprint-based criminal history and background investigation; must meet CJIS and TCOLE requirements.
• Criminal history may disqualify based on listed criteria.

Responsibilities

• Serve civil process papers, warrants, and perform patrol duties.
• Detain suspects, make arrests, and transport prisoners as needed.
• Answer complaints, respond to service requests, and prepare timely reports.
• Coordinate with other law enforcement agencies as required.
• Exhibit regular and punctual attendance and perform related duties as required.
