Job summary

Human Trafficking Institute in the United States seeks a Senior Data & MERL Specialist - Texas to lead data management, MERL, and learning across HTI's Texas programs, building scalable data systems and dashboards.

You will partner with the Global MERL Manager, manage data quality, reporting for grants and donors, and ensure privacy and security of sensitive information, while driving program learning and improvement in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data-related field or equivalent.
• 5-7 years’ experience in data management or analysis.
• Hands-on experience cleaning, matching, and managing messy data with documentation.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, or Python for data cleaning and analysis.
• Experience handling confidential or sensitive data in line with privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain structured databases and data dictionaries for consistent indicators.
• Ensure Texas KPIs are backed by verifiable data sources for reporting.
• Collect, clean, and consolidate data from partners and internal activities.
• Coordinate with external partners to ensure timely data submissions and QA.
• Manage relationships with county leads for reliable data sharing.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve data processes.
• Conduct periodic data quality reviews and produce summaries for leadership.
• Ensure compliance with HTI's data governance and privacy standards.
