Job summary

Robinson ISD is seeking a Texas ACE Afterschool Worker to supervise students and lead enrichment activities at a Robinson campus (Primary, Elementary or Intermediate). The role provides academic support to close learning gaps and create a safe, engaging environment from dismissal until pickup.

You will implement the Texas ACE Program under the Site Coordinator, coordinate with campus staff and families, and plan age-appropriate clubs and games.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Some college or education-related coursework highly preferred.

Job Title: Texas ACE Afterschool Worker

Wage/Hour Status: $11.00/hr(+Pending Experience or certification) / At Will

Reports to: Texas ACE Site Coordinator

Dept./School: Assigned Campuses in Robinson ISD (Primary, Elementary,or Intermediate)

Primary Purpose:

Supervise students, lead enrichment activities and provide academic support by working with individual or small groups of students enrolled in the Texas ACE Program to close learning gaps and foster positive learning environments.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• Must be at least 17 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Some college or education-related coursework highly preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to meet the needs of students from various social, educational, and economic backgrounds
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
• Ability to problem solve and find solutions in a fast-paced environment
• Previous experience working with children in grades K-6 preferred

Certifications:

• CPR and First Aid or the willingness to obtain them

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Implement the Texas ACE Program, under the direction of the Texas ACE Site Coordinator, to incorporate meaningful educational connections to school-day learning.
• Ensure a safe, clean and engaging environment for students from dismissal until parent pick up.
• Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.
• Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational games, crafts, clubs and other enrichment activities.
• Motivate and support student behaviors through positive feedback and reinforcement.
• Inspire curiosity and build confidence through student clubs, based on student voice and choice.
• Be a positive role model for students and support the learning goals of the campus.
• Communicate effectively with site coordinator, campus administrators, teachers, parents and students.
• Gather and maintain students records, including attendance, participation, development and achievement data for program evaluation.

Other Duties:

• Performs other duties as assigned by the ACE Site Coordinator or Program Director.

Hours:

Follow the Robinson ISD school calendar. Typically working Mondays-Fridays, 3:15pm-6:15pm

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions, occasional prolonged and irregular hours. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, and walking. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
