Fajita Pete’s is hiring a dependable Line Cook to join our Tex-Mex kitchen team. You will prepare fajitas, proteins, vegetables, and other menu items to Fajita Pete’s standards in a fast-paced setting.

We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work and can maintain quality, cleanliness, and speed. The role involves opening/closing duties, food safety, and collaboration with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely, accurate orders.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable and punctual.
• Strong attention to food quality and cleanliness.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and instructions.
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be available to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fajitas, proteins, vegetables, and other menu items according to Fajita Pete’s recipes and standards.
• Set up and maintain assigned cooking and prep stations.
• Follow proper portioning, cooking temperatures, and presentation standards.
• Complete food preparation before and during each shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department requirements.
• Properly label, date, rotate, and store food products.
• Communicate with other kitchen and front-of-house team members to ensure orders are prepared accurately and on time.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries when needed.
• Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties.
• Help minimize food waste by following proper preparation and portion-control procedures.
• Support catering and large-order production as needed.
• Perform other kitchen duties assigned by management.
