We seek a System Engineer to support a web-based mission application, with computing across laptops and server farms, using Linux (RHEL/Rocky), GitLab CI/CD, Grafana, Jira and Confluence. The role focuses on manual testing, test planning with Epic Champion collaboration, and end-to-end verification across the software life cycle.

Qualifications

• Ten years of experience as a SWE in similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline; four years of additional SWE experience may substitute for degree.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of system and application to validate functionality and performance.
• As an Epic Champion, collaborate with DevOps and Development teams to define testing needs and develop compliant test plans and cases.
• Execute functional, regression, integration and user acceptance testing.
• Document test results, identify defects and submit detailed findings through defect-tracking processes.
• Perform system and application installations, upgrades and configuration validation in support of testing responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, procedures and supporting technical materials.
• Provide training to users on application functionality and system usage/ monitoring.
• Collaborate with development teams to validate defect fixes and verify acceptance criteria.
• Participate in occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel (~1-2 times per year).

As a System Engineer, you are responsible for providing support to our web-based mission application and its customers. This software product is a full life cycle software suite that provides audio & video ingest, storage, query, playback, analysis, and transcription features. Our application is used by national and tactical analysts on small systems (laptops) and large systems (server farms). You will be working with technologies including Linux (RHEL/Rocky), GitLab CI/CD, Grafana, Jira and Confluence.

Responsibilities:

• Perform manual testing of system and application testing to validate functionality, usability and system performance against defined requirements
• As an Epic Champion, collaborate with DevOps and Development teams to define testing needs and develop compliant test plans and cases

• Document test results, identify defects and submit detailed findings through established defect-tracking processes

Skills Required:

• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working in Linuxenvironments (RHEL 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9)
• Experience with manual software testing, including functional and regression testing
• Experience documenting test cases, test results, and software defects
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for test documentation and defect tracking
• Familiarity with Grafana for reviewing system information in support of test activities, as needed
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams

Qualifications:

• Ten (10) years of experience required as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Active TS/SCI w/ poly

Salary range - $180,000-$210,000, based on qualifications/experience
