Job summary

Visionist, Inc. seeks a Systems Engineer focused on testing for a PRIME contract. You will join a 20+ team delivering full-lifecycle support for a mission-critical software app, with hybrid work-from-home opportunities two days per week.

The role requires TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and 10+ years in systems engineering, plus experience with GitLab CI/CD, Linux, Jira/Confluence, and Grafana. Travel 1–2 times yearly is possible.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required.
• 10 years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Linux environments (RHEL 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9).
• Experience with manual software testing (functional/regression).
• Experience documenting test cases, results, and defects.
• Jira and Confluence for test documentation and defect tracking.
• Strong written and verbal communication across technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of system and application testing to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Development to define testing needs and create compliant test plans.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing as needed.
• Document test results, defects, and findings in defect-tracking systems.
• Install, upgrade, and configure systems/applications to support testing.
• Develop and maintain test documentation, procedures, and technical material.
• Provide user training on application functionality and monitoring.
• Coordinate with development to verify defect fixes meet acceptance criteria.
• Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel (about 1–2 times per year).

You will join a team of 20+ who work together to provide full-lifecycle support to a mission-critical software application. This program performs development, pre-production staging, and production maintenance and support activities. Depending on the role being performed, this program allows hybrid work-from-home opportunities 2 days a week.

Your contributions are…

• Perform manual testing of system and application testing to validate functionality, usability, and system performance against defined requirements
• As an Epic Champion, collaborate with DevOps and Development teams to define testing needs and develop compliant test plans and cases
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing as appropriate
• Document test results, identify defects, and submit detailed findings through established defect-tracking processes
• Perform system and application installations, upgrades, and configuration validation in support of testing responsibilities
• Develop and maintain test documentation, procedures, and supporting technical material
• Provide training to users on application functionality and system usage / monitoring
• Collaborate with development teams to validate defect fixes and verify that changes meet acceptance criteria
• Participate in occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel (approximately 1-2 times per year)

Requirements for your new career…

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
• 10 years of experience in systems engineering
• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Linux environments (RHEL 8/9, Rocky Linux 8/9).
• Experience with manual software testing, including functional and regression testing.
• Experience documenting test cases, test results, and software defects.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for test documentation and defect tracking.
• Familiarity with Grafana for reviewing system information in support of test activities, as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams.

Salary range: $176,000 - $220,000
