Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and deviations.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused Plating Tester to support plating operations by inspecting, testing, and verifying the quality of plated components throughout the manufacturing process. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting visual and dimensional inspections, performing coating thickness and adhesion testing, documenting results, identifying defects, and ensuring plated products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and company quality standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, process compliance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections of plated components to verify appearance, finish quality, and compliance with established
  • Conduct plating tests including coating thickness measurements, adhesion testing, conductivity testing, and other required quality
  • Utilize testing and measuring equipment such as micrometers, gauges, coating thickness testers, and related inspection tools.
  • Review and verify product specifications, engineering drawings, process sheets, and quality documentation.
  • Accurately document inspection and test results and maintain records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Identify non-conforming materials and products and communicate findings to production and quality teams.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to plating defects and process issues.
  • Monitor plating processes to ensure compliance with established quality and operational standards.
  • Assist with first-piece, in-process, and final inspections as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all company policies, quality standards, and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in quality control, manufacturing inspection, plating operations, or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and process deviations.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials as required throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment while following all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
