Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC seeks a detail-oriented Plating Tester to inspect, test, and verify the quality of plated components throughout manufacturing. You will conduct visual and dimensional inspections, perform coating thickness and adhesion tests, document results, and identify defects to ensure customer specs and quality standards are met.

You will collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement, maintain safety, and support root cause investigations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Experience with precision measuring instruments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects and deviations.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of plated components to verify appearance and finish quality.
• Conduct coating thickness measurements, adhesion testing, and conductivity testing.
• Utilize inspection tools such as micrometers, gauges, and thickness testers.
• Review specifications, drawings, and quality documents.
• Document inspection and test results and maintain records per procedures.
• Identify non-conforming materials and communicate findings to teams.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Monitor plating processes for quality and compliance.
• Assist with first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment.
