Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to uphold and improve manufacturing processes. You will apply NCR and 8D methodologies, audit daily activities, manage non-conformances, and coordinate with engineering, production, safety, and suppliers to ensure product quality.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in advanced QA roles, strong measurement tool experience, and relevant Lean/Six Sigma training. Travel to vendors/clients may be required and SOP documentation is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years in a technical QA role in manufacturing preferred.
  • 3–5 years in quality document control preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tapes) for quality checks.
  • Willing to learn the full production-line process.
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage resources as needed.
  • Team player with ability to plan and organize responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive attitude toward targets on reliability, safety, quality and productivity.
  • Use NCR process and 8D approach to build quality into processes.
  • Internally audit daily activities to identify non-conformances needing correction.
  • Initiate, manage, and close NCRs promptly.
  • Escalate complex issues to QA Engineers as needed.
  • Measure cost of poor quality and monitor customer complaints.
  • Manage external complaints and RGA handling.
  • Transfer NCR actions to FMEA controls and update group plans.
  • Ensure staff are trained and follow SOPs for quality products.
  • Identify opportunities to embed quality into products and processes.
  • Liaise with engineering, production, safety, and vendors for compliance.
  • Drive COPQ reduction and continuous improvements.
  • Develop fully documented SOPs for all activities.
  • Deliver training for new quality improvements.
  • Feedback from first and second party MS audits is controlled.

  • Identifies opportunities to builds quality into the products and processes.
  • Liaise closely with engineering, production, safety, vendors to ensure product compliance.
  • Engage in any improvements which seek to drive the COPQ down.
  • Assist development of a fully documented SOP’s for all activities within the organization.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years' experience working in an advanced technical QA position in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience quality related document control preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and/or tape measures) to do in-depth quality checks.
  • Must be willing to learn the entire process of the production line where you are assigned
  • Quality related certifications and training highly preferred (Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle pressure and request resources when necessary.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to plan and organize your responsibilities according to needs of the company
  • Ability to make decision and self-pace your work. Strong prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated tenacious problem-solving ability in an organized manner using 8D/NCR methodology.
  • Experience with Data Collection and SPC.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and measure or test product to determine conformance.
  • Trained on Internal Auditor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Teachable to grow reporting skills.
  • Ability to occasionally travel to vendors and clients to handle NCR’s.
  • Ability to interact with multiple people at different levels to include but not limited to upper management, production, engineering, clients, and vendors to creatively resolve quality issues.
  • Must act in the best interest of E&I to clients and suppliers.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

Due to the nature of our work, Team Members may be required to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, carry objects over distance, bend/twist, squat, climb ladders, sit or stand for extended periods of time, use tools requiring manual dexterity, and may be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
