Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for the Testbeds & EGSE team. The role focuses on creating repeatable procedures, templates, and release processes for testbeds and EGSE, ensuring the knowledge base remains clear and accessible as designs evolve.

You will work closely with hardware teams, read schematics and block diagrams, and stay close to the floor to shadow builds and document steps. Onsite work five days a week is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, test, or hardware engineering with ownership of procedures or documentation.
• Reader-friendly ability to read schematics, block diagrams, and software-driven test flows.
• Excellent technical writing; clear, precise, usable by others.

Responsibilities

• Own the team's procedure and work-instruction system, including templates, standards, and the release process.
• Write new assembly, checkout, and maintenance procedures for testbeds and EGSE by shadowing engineering builds.
• Keep procedures current as designs evolve and drive redlines to closure.
• Own the knowledge base: structure, maintenance, and authoritative status.
• Maintain testbed block diagrams and system documentation as configurations change.
• Own HITL maintenance communications and downtime/status updates.
