Job summary

Fluidstack is hiring for the Thermofluids R&D team in Los Angeles to own the test program for advanced compressor and chiller testing. You will design test cells, define measurement chains, and produce credible performance maps for production use, driving weekly design changes and safety interlocks.

The role emphasizes instrumentation, data interpretation, and strong collaboration with the core design team to push the frontier of AI infrastructure cooling.

Qualifications

• You have commissioned a test stand from a bare bay, including instrumentation and calibration.
• You have instrumented a machine to failure and diagnosed root causes from data.
• You own an uncertainty budget and can state the value of your measurements.
• You have written interlock and abort logic to keep people safe around high energy systems.
• You have experience with data-driven design changes and weekly iteration.

Responsibilities

• Own the test program from stand startup to validated performance map for production use.
• Set up test cells: motor test bench, high‑pressure gas loop, load bank, and instrumentation.
• Define measurement chain and reporting uncertainty for credible results.
• Write interlocks and abort criteria for high-speed, high-pressure environments.
• Translate test data into design changes within the engineering loop.
