Job summary

NSWCPD Philadelphia is seeking a Senior Test & Troubleshooting Engineer with technical writing expertise to support testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of shipboard MCS, DC, and Network Systems.

This is a Key Personnel position reporting to the Prime Contractor and Government TPOC/COR. Onsite duties at NSWCPD Philadelphia with potential CONUS travel.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering
• 10 yrs engineering; 5 yrs PLC testing/troubleshooting; 5 yrs technical writing (test procedures, installation/rip-out docs, technical manuals)
• 3 yrs USCG POLAR STAR (WAGB-10) or comparable USCG heavy icebreaker
• 3 yrs waterfront representative at civilian/military shipyards

Responsibilities

• Develop/execute test plans and procedures for MCS, DC, and Network Systems
• Document faults/deficiencies; perform configuration management per SEP CMP
• Develop SCD/ECP packages; maintain installation procedures and TDPs
• Provide shipboard installation, troubleshooting, and test assessment plans
• Develop/present technical presentations; maintain tracking sheets (test equipment, POs, calibration)
• Provide shipboard operator/maintenance training; conduct test procedures during shipboard evolutions
• Track failures/issues in SPIR database

Position Overview

Seeking a Senior Test & Troubleshooting Engineer with technical writing expertise to support testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of shipboard MCS, DC, and Network Systems for NSWCPD Code 513, supporting CVN68, CVN78, Columbia, FF(X), Amphibious, FMS, and USCG platforms.

This is a Key Personnel position. Reports to Prime Contractor for HR/administrative matters; receives work direction from Government TPOC/COR.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop/execute test plans and procedures for MCS, DC, and Network Systems
• Document faults/deficiencies; perform configuration management per SEP CMP
• Develop SCD/ECP packages; maintain installation procedures and TDPs
• Provide shipboard installation, troubleshooting, and test assessment plans

Required Qualifications

• Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
• Security: Secret eligible
• Language: Fluent English

Preferred

Nimitz (CVN-68) or comparable CVN class MCS experience; LBES/LBTF integration; active Secret clearance

Work Conditions

M-F, 0600-1800; OT pre-approved; limited telework; CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required; 92% onsite at NSWCPD Philadelphia
