Job description

Job Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the Hipotronics test area in Reading, PA. This includes leading testing of Hipotronics high voltage products in the factory and providing production support as needed. The role also involves offering technical assistance to customers in installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training of high voltage test and measurement equipment.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the Hipotronics test area, ensuring an efficient testing schedule and a clean, safe environment.
  2. Oversee all production and onsite testing for GTC/Hipotronics manufacturing, ensuring proper assembly and testing procedures are followed before final testing.
  3. Provide technical guidance on production processes, including HV tank processing, lugging, soldering, schematic reviews, and work instructions.
  4. Coordinate communication between production and engineering to ensure correct assembly and testing.
  5. Mentor and support test technicians at the GTC Reading facility.
  6. Assist customers via phone and email, understanding their needs and resolving issues.
  7. Support the service group by providing part numbers for quoting, searching BOMs in SAP, and identifying parts.
  8. Perform final tests to ensure equipment operates per engineering specifications, making adjustments as necessary, and documenting all work and test results.
  9. Conduct final tests on new systems and prepare related documentation for customers.
  10. Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications for Success

  • Associate degree in a technical field required.
  • Preferred 5+ years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting, and calibrating analog and digital control metering circuits.
  • Preferred experience reading schematics and working with handheld tools and test instruments.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites on short notice (25-30%) for technical support, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and calibration.
  • Experience in customer interfacing.
  • Excellent time management, organization, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Physical ability to perform occasional bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs., and work at heights.
