The test position is for the End of Line Electrical Testers. This position includes testing equipment after assembly, troubleshooting unit issues by reading schematics and using troubleshooting tools such as Volt Meters. The position may include supporting all Arctic lines in Grand Rapids and may require off shift and weekend work, along with overtime. The operator may work with engineering, managers and lead techs on maintaining flow to the lines. The operator will be required to work around live low voltage and high voltage, so electrical safety knowledge is a must.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
This position requires working mainly in a typical semi-conditioned shop environment and occasionally in a typical conditioned office environment. The noise level in the shop environment is usually loud. The noise level in the office environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job required in the shop, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), and fumes or airborne particles. Occasionally, working outdoors, in mechanical/equipment rooms, in extreme weather conditions, and in areas with vibration is possible.
