Position: Test Technician IV (Onsite, 1st Shift: Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm)
What You Will Do
- Follow and offer suggestions for improvement to Health and Safety guidelines ensuring safe work environment
- Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures
- Setting up and operating various test stands
- Configuring, calibrating and maintaining test equipment
- Interpreting and recording test results
- Recognizing and isolating test equipment failures
- Using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub‑assembly and component level
- Reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics
- Effectively communicating work status to team members and support staff (e.g., shift pass‑down, engineering, maintenance)
- Working alone and as a member of a team to ensure production and quality goals are met
- Participating in formal and informal continuous improvement efforts and projects
Working Environment
- Occasional weekend and holiday support may be required to meet customer needs
- Exposure to products of various weights and sizes, equipment with moving parts, high potential (voltage/current), and chemicals that may emit fumes
- Follow site static‑control and personal protective equipment guidelines and procedures to minimize safety risk
Physical Demands
- Bending, stooping, reaching, and turning as needed to place units in test stands, pick up totes, and place units on racks
- Distinguishing colors and meeting vision requirements
- Using hands for extended periods to perform testing and troubleshooting tasks (e.g., grasping, holding, picking, placing, twisting, fine manipulation)
- Sitting or standing at a workbench/test stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Transporting product with or without product carts
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a high school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., GED in the US) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
Qualifications We Prefer
- Ability to read and interpret technical data
- Prior experience with component level troubleshooting
- Working computer skills and knowledge of office software applications
- Electrical Technician Certification
- Certification in Electronics
