Job summary

EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) is seeking a Test Technician to test and troubleshoot defective electronic sub-assemblies, batteries, chargers, and accessories detected during manufacturing. You will interpret blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues and document results.

Join Bren-Tronics, part of EnerSys, and contribute to prototype assembly, New Product Team activities, and production transfers while performing SMT soldering and electrical assembly as needed. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Technical/trade education or equivalent vocational training in manufacture industry.
• Minimum of 3+ years of technical experience in Test Technician or similar role.
• Understanding of circuit boards, microprocessors, chips, and computer hardware and software.
• Solderer 454 certificate or surface mount soldering skills are a plus.
• Ability to operate testing equipment to troubleshoot and interpret manuals, specifications, and related documents.
• Problem solving skills, self-motivated with results driven approach.
• General ability to stand, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs on production floor.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and schematics to analyze and troubleshoot to the component level; document test results and inspection data.
• Repair or rework products/ components using electrical-mechanical assembly and soldering methods.
• Calculate, collect test data and results to verify compliance with functional specifications.
• Participate in prototype assembly and the New Product Team to grasp product requirements and assist troubleshooting for production transfer.
• Identify and explain issues related to product quality, efficiency, and effectiveness to team members; contribute to resolutions.
• Assist with system-level repair/rework tasks or assembly, including SMT component replacement as needed.
• Perform tests on assembled batteries, chargers, power supplies, and related wiring boards using meters, oscilloscopes, and calipers.
• Perform additional tasks as required.
