Job summary

Actalent in Waukesha, WI is seeking an Engineering Technician on 1st-3rd shifts to perform testing on current and new product designs under supervision.

You will set up test equipment, test prototypes, read procedures, document data, and assist with assembling test fixtures in a lab environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and be reliable and trainable; this is a permanent onsite role with competitive pay.

• Set up test equipment and products in the correct sequence per approved test procedures.
• Perform testing on prototypes, existing products, and competitor products based on defined criteria.

• Accurately interpret, record, and document measurements (temperature, pressure, etc.).
• Assist with assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products per blueprint specs.

The Engineering Technician is responsible for performing testing on current and new product designs under close supervision.

This role supports continuous improvement initiatives to reduce the potential for product defects and contributes to laboratory operations in accordance with established standards and procedures.

• Set up test equipment and products in the correct sequence in accordance with approved test procedures.
• Perform testing on prototypes, existing products, and competitor products based on defined criteria involving mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions
• Utilize a variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic measurement instruments.
• Accurately interpret, record, and document scientific notation, temperature, pressure, and other measurement data.
• Assist with the assembly and fabrication of test equipment and prototype products according to blueprint specifications.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools.
• Comfortable working around electrical wiring and wire harnesses.
• Ability to read and follow procedures and work instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Reliable, trainable, and willing to learn new equipment and processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must provide basic personal hand tools.

Work Environment

This position operates within a laboratory environment that requires adherence to safety protocols and procedures. The work involves handling various mechanical and electrical tasks, necessitating the use of basic hand tools.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
