Actalent in East Peoria, IL is seeking a Test Technician to build, maintain, and enhance HIL bench setups and wiring harnesses for hardware testing and certification.

You will work hands-on with electronic assemblies, test equipment, and embedded systems to ensure reliable, compliant products through rigorous bench and regulatory testing. This role requires attention to safety, precise documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Approximately 3+ years of experience working with electronics, hardware testing, or related technical roles.
• Proficiency with PCB soldering and rework on electronic assemblies.
• Familiarity with electronic and electrical safety procedures when working with lab equipment and live circuits.
• Ability to read and understand complex electronic schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
• Demonstrated ability to build and validate complex wiring harnesses for test and integration purposes.
• Experience with hardware and software integration and system-level validation of embedded systems.
• Hands‑on experience using lab equipment and instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.
• Experience with test automation tools or frameworks to support repeatable and efficient testing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, electrical, communication, and integration issues.
• Experience executing structured test procedures and performing defect analysis.
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions based on test findings.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail when working with complex systems and test data.
• Effective technical communication skills for reporting issues, documenting results, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated discipline in documentation and reporting of test setups, procedures, and outcomes.

Work Environment

The role operates primarily in a laboratory and bench‑testing environment focused on electronic hardware and embedded systems. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of East Peoria, IL.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
