Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Test Technician to join our Mission Systems team, supporting the testing of ejection seats and related aerospace technologies on a supersonic rocket track. You will assist the test team with a wide range of tasks across facilities and equipment.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, repair, and operation of test infrastructure, with exposure to high-velocity testing environments and collaboration with engineers to ensure mission success.

• Trade or maintenance experience in mechanical or aerospace fields.
• Experience with office software packages.
• Strong communication and multi-tasking skills.
• HS Diploma or AA/AS; 2+ years relevant experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Job description

The Test Technician will be a part of a team testing ejection seats and other aerospace and defense technologies. The team performs test operations at a supersonic rocket track, and this individual will support the test team with the wide variety of tasks needed for these projects.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Maintain and repair facilities including water lines, buildings, etc.
• Operating equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, and road graders
• Loading and unloading rocket motors from test sleds
• Cleaning and maintaining test track
• Support building, maintaining and upgrading test equipment and fixtures

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

• Experience in a trade, facility maintenance, mechanical or aerospace repairs and maintenance
• Experience with office computer software packages
• Strong communication skills
• Experience with organizing and multi-tasking
• Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

QUALIFATIONS WE PREFER:

• Experience operating heavy equipment, including rough terrain cranes
• Mechanical training or experience repairing vehicles and/or equipment
• Experience with fabrication via welding or machining
• Experience working in R&D, test environments or with ejection seats

The salary range for this role is 41,400 USD - 72,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
