Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Test Technician to join a team testing ejection seats and other aerospace technologies at a supersonic rocket track near Mesa. You will support diverse test operations, maintain facilities, and assist in test equipment setup and maintenance.

The role requires a HS Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years in trades or aerospace maintenance, along with strong communication and multitasking abilities. Onsite work environment, and U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Experience in a trade, facility maintenance, mechanical or aerospace repairs and maintenance.
  • Experience with office computer software packages.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with organizing and multi-tasking.
  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

The Test Technician will be a part of a team testing ejection seats and other aerospace and defense technologies. The team performs test operations at a supersonic rocket track, and this individual will support the test team with the wide variety of tasks needed for these projects.


What You Will Do


  • Maintain and repair facilities including water lines, buildings, etc.

  • Operating equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, and road graders

  • Loading and unloading rocket motors from test sleds

  • Cleaning and maintaining test track

  • Support building, maintaining and upgrading test equipment and fixtures


Qualifications You Must Have


  • Experience in a trade, facility maintenance, mechanical or aerospace repairs and maintenance

  • Experience with office computer software packages

  • Strong communication skills

  • Experience with organizing and multi-tasking

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.


Qualifications We Prefer


  • Experience operating heavy equipment, including rough terrain cranes

  • Mechanical training or experience repairing vehicles and/or equipment

  • Experience with fabrication via welding or machining

  • Experience working in R&D, test environments or with ejection seats

The salary range for this role is 41,400 USD - 72,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
