Job summary

HireArt is hiring a Test Technician to support software release validation, vehicle testing, and mission readiness for an autonomous vehicle fleet. • Experience leading QA testing efforts for software releases.
• Ability to document results and report defects clearly.
• Familiarity with QA methodologies and defect management processes.
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence or Azure DevOps.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills, under pressure.

Job description

Expected compensation: 45.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Test Technician to support software release validation, vehicle testing, and mission readiness for its autonomous vehicle fleet.

In this role, you’ll lead hands‑on software release testing, prepare vehicles and systems for test missions, execute complex test cases, and analyze vehicle logs and test data to identify and communicate issues. You’ll work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure software, hardware, and vehicles are properly configured and ready for safe deployment.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on testing professional with experience supporting complex software or vehicle testing environments. You’re highly detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and comfortable troubleshooting issues, documenting defects, and operating effectively in high‑pressure situations where priorities can change quickly.

As a Test Technician, You'll

• Lead software release testing, execute complex test cases, and confirm software and vehicle readiness before deployment.
• Prepare vehicles and systems for test missions by launching software across multiple devices, verifying software and hardware configurations, deploying software, capturing requested data, and escalating issues as needed.
• Support vehicle operations, test missions, and data collection through a variety of in‑vehicle and operational responsibilities.
• Analyze vehicle logs and test data using internal tools to trace failures, support root‑cause analysis, and communicate findings to engineering teams.
• Manage defects from identification through resolution, maintaining accurate test results, documentation, vehicle‑readiness records, and supporting metrics.
• Develop targeted test cases for emergency and maintenance releases and help transition appropriate manual in‑vehicle test cases into simulation environments to improve testing efficiency.
• Execute testing and data collection while identifying opportunities to improve processes and tools based on observed operational and customer needs.
• Maintain a safety‑first, inclusive, and collaborative environment while providing clear written and verbal feedback to engineering and operations teams.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience executing complex software, system, or vehicle testing
• Experience leading QA testing efforts for software releases
• Demonstrated experience executing complex test cases, documenting results, and reporting defects using tools such as TestRail and Jira
• Basic knowledge of QA testing methodologies and defect management processes
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence or Azure DevOps
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to perform effectively in high‑pressure situations
• Proactive and resourceful approach with a strong sense of urgency and commitment to completing tasks
• Strong safety‑first mindset and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Python or other high‑level programming or scripting experience
• Experience with communication buses and networking technologies such as CAN and Ethernet
