Job summary

Aerotek in Hopkins, SC seeks a Wiring Associate to assemble and wire switchgear assemblies, read schematics, and wire complex subassemblies including PLCs and monitors. You’ll work on the shop floor with basic wiring hand tools, maintain attention to detail, and adhere to BOMs.

Qualifications

• Previous wiring experience is required.
• Technical associate degree or wiring certificate preferred.
• Experience as an electrician or electrician’s assistant advantageous.
• Experience in manufacturing or related environments (industrial construction, HVAC, or vehicle electrical wiring) preferred.

Job Title: Wiring Associate Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Wiring Associate to join our team, primarily focused on the shop floor wiring of switchgear products according to customer specifications. This role involves assembling and wiring complex assemblies and subassemblies, including PLCs, circuit monitors, and other advanced electronic devices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire a variety of complex assembly and subassembly operations for switchboard and switchgear products.

• Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and material lists.

• Utilize basic wiring hand tools to complete tasks.

• Maintain a strong attention to detail, following checklists, wiring labels, and bills of materials.

• Lift and hold assembly parts weighing up to 35 lbs. repeatedly throughout the work period.

• Work collaboratively in a team environment and be self-motivated.

• Work overtime periodically on short notice to meet customer service demands.

Essential Skills

• Sound knowledge and experience in assembly and wiring techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

• Previous wiring experience is required.

• Strong attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Technical associates degree or wiring certificate from a technical school.

Work Environment

Our facility is climate-controlled, ensuring comfort during work hours. The cafeteria serves first shift employees, and the workforce consists of 600 employees distributed across 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts. The A Shift operates Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, while the B Shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with a $2 shift differential for night shift.

This is a Permanent position based out of Hopkins, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $62400.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

Work Environment

The facility is climate-controlled, ensuring a comfortable working environment. With 600 employees across various shifts, including A Shift from Monday to Friday (7:00 am-3:30 pm) and B Shift from Monday to Thursday (3:30 pm-2:00 am), employees have the flexibility to choose shifts that suit their schedules. A $2 shift differential is provided for night shifts.
