Job summary

Randstad USA is hiring a System Test Technician in Georgetown, TX, to join a fast-paced, cutting-edge tech facility. You will assemble, test, and integrate server hardware, run Linux/Windows tests, and update BIOS/ROM to keep prototypes current.

The role requires an Associate degree or technical training, 1+ year of related experience, and solid knowledge of CPUs, memory, and power supplies. You will work nights 7 PM–7 AM and use Windows/Linux to diagnose performance issues.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics or Technical School certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1+ year of related tech support or hardware assembly experience.
• Solid understanding of CPU, power supplies, memory, flash memory.
• Experience using Windows and Linux to run diagnostic scripts.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Hands-on Hardware: Assemble, install, test, and integrate server, network, and storage hardware.
• System Diagnostics: Run custom Linux and Windows-based testing programs to benchmark performance and isolate failure nodes.
• Upgrades & Repairs: Build, debug, and upgrade computer prototypes, and execute BIOS and Flash ROM updates.
• Failure Analysis: Diagnose root-cause system failures and create detailed technical logs for the engineering team.

What You Bring

Technical Background: An Associate’s degree in Electronics, Technical School certificate, or equivalent hands-on experience. Experience: 1+ years of related tech support or hardware assembly experience (custom PC building counts!). Architecture Knowledge: A solid understanding of core components like CPUs, power supplies, memory, and flash memory. OS Familiarity: Comfort using both Windows and Linux environments to run diagnostic scripts.

salary: $23 - $24.15 per hour

Responsibilities

• Associates degree in Electronics, Certificate of Completion of Technical School or equivalent experience in related discipline
• 1+ year of related work experience
• Comprehensive training is provided however, hands on computer hardware and/or technical support experience is a plus
• Fundamental understanding of computer architecture and components (CPU, power supply, memory, graphics cards, flash memory, etc.)
• Ability to diagnose the root cause of computer system failure and isolate the components/failure nodes.
• Ability to use custom Linux and Windows-based diagnostic/test programs to run benchmarks/tests on electronic components' performance.
• Understanding of hardware and software interactions; able to apply this understanding to resolve issues.
