Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Test Technician to join the Boss Division. This hands-on role focuses on assembling hose fittings, preparing test samples, and conducting mechanical tests to evaluate product performance.

You will analyze data, document procedures, and help improve SOPs while maintaining accurate records and communicating findings to internal teams. The position offers daytime hours, competitive pay, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years in product testing, manufacturing, quality control, or related technical field.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret data and identify trends or anomalies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• High attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Associate degree or STEM coursework preferred.
• Experience with testing equipment or lab environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hose fittings and prepare test samples with specialized equipment.
• Perform mechanical and functional testing to evaluate performance and durability.

• Document procedures, observations, and results accurately.
• Prepare clear reports and communicate findings to teams and stakeholders.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot equipment.
• Assist in developing and updating SOPs and work instructions.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in lab and manufacturing.

Location: 156 Dixon Drive, Chestertown, MD 21620
Work Hours: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay Range: $18 to $25 per hour

What You'll Do:

• Assemble hose fittings and prepare test samples using a variety of specialized equipment
• Perform mechanical and functional testing to evaluate product performance, durability, and compatibility
• Analyze test data and recommend improvements to testing methods and product performance
• Document all testing procedures, observations, and results with a high level of accuracy
• Prepare clear, professional reports and communicate findings to internal teams and external stakeholders
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and troubleshoot testing and assembly equipment
• Assist in developing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab and manufacturing processes

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years of experience in product testing, manufacturing, quality control, maintenance, or a related technical field
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to interpret data and identify trends or anomalies
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or coursework in STEM or a related field
• Experience working with testing equipment, mechanical systems, or laboratory environments
