Job summary

General Matter, Inc. is hiring a Test Specialist to own complex testing operations from setup through execution and to work with engineers on instrumentation strategy and data acquisition. You will drive root-cause investigations to resolution, enabling robust product development in a fast-paced R&D environment.

This role offers hands-on ownership of test assets, calibration, and documentation, plus scripting in Python, LabVIEW, and TwinCAT to run tests and analyze results.

Qualifications

• Evidence of exceptional ability (portfolio of work, completed projects, etc).
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to perform trade studies and make clear recommendations using first principles and engineering fundamentals even with partial information.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 5+ years experience in test setups or technician support roles for fast-paced technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Work independently on projects of diverse or complex scope.
• Set up and execute tests of varying complexity across development, qualification, and acceptance campaigns.
• Own test assets including DAQ systems and test stands, maintaining a test facility that is safe, clean, calibrated, and ready for future testing.
• Assist engineering on projects and tests with instrumentation, DAQ support, and best practices for DFT (design for test).
• Perform root cause investigation to drive engineering issues to closure.
• Collaborate with engineers to update test documentation and improve process.
• Author and update scripts (Python, LabVIEW, TwinCAT) to run tests and analyze results.
