Job summary

General Matter, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer in Los Angeles to design, develop, and maintain custom testing solutions for in-house electronics and electro-mechanical hardware.

You will create test systems and infrastructure, including hardware, software, and test sequences to exercise failure modes. You will write Python automation to interact with test articles, equipment, and production documentation, collaborating with design and manufacturing engineers to drive reliability and efficiency

Qualifications

• Evidence of exceptional ability demonstrated by projects or a portfolio.
• BS degree in electrical or related engineering with emphasis in electronics.
• 1+ years in electronic hardware or software development.
• 1+ years programming in Python or Embedded C/C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and maintain custom test solutions for in-house electronics and electro-mechanical hardware.
• Select off-the-shelf hardware and design PCBAs to power units and measure signals.
• Write automation software in Python to interact with test equipment and documentation systems.
• Work with design and manufacturing engineers to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Root-cause test anomalies and implement mitigations.
• Design test campaigns to ensure lifetime, performance, and safety requirements.
