We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL to join the team with Bastion, a teammate company.

The Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL will:

  1. Play a crucial role in the success of the Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab (GRAIL), which will certify avionics for all modules of the Gateway Program returning to the moon.
  2. Support possibly rotating to support Second Shift Hours (3 pm-11 pm) during testing operations.
  3. Support the design of new and existing avionics testing hardware.
  4. Coordinate with MCC Scheduling, GRAIL Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Safety, Quality, and Assurance (QA/QE), and other groups to plan and execute testing activities.
  5. Assist in Test Readiness Reviews (URR/TRR).
  6. Ensure QA/QE support is scheduled for testing.
  7. Perform pre-task briefs.
  8. Execute GRAIL validation testing as Test Operations Engineer.
  9. Document test results and archive test procedures.
  10. Contribute to Post Test Reports (PTR).
  11. Develop top-level test procedures in DOORS Next Generation for GRAIL test checkout procedures.
  12. Perform ground and flight testing for hardware, with proper documentation.
  13. Utilize Linux workstations and scripts for lab switch layouts.
  14. Support hardware verification and validation activities during integration testing.
  15. Understand and support the project testing schedule and produce necessary documentation.
  16. Review and track engineering deliverables for project status reporting.
  17. Interpret CAD drawings and system configurations.
  18. Coordinate with procurement and vendors for hardware specifications and delivery.
  19. Perform other duties as required.

Requisition Qualifications:

This position is posted at multiple levels, and candidates will be considered based on experience, requirements, and business needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or IT from an accredited institution.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and power systems.
  • Understanding of lab operations and documentation.
  • Support for rotating to Second Shift Hours (3 pm-11 pm).

Requisition Preferences:

  • Knowledge of avionics hardware and/or flight processes/paperwork is a plus.
  • Experience with NASA avionics is advantageous.
