The Test Operations Project Engineer for Gateway GRAIL will support the JETS II contract in Houston, TX. The Test Operations Project Engineer will be essential to the success of the Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab (GRAIL), which will certify the avionics for all modules of the Gateway Program returning to the moon.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support project group with design of new and existing avionic testing hardware.
- Coordinate testing activities with MCC Scheduling, GRAIL Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Safety Quality and Assurance (QA/QE), and other groups.
- Support Test Readiness Reviews (URR/TRR).
- Ensure QA/QE support is scheduled for testing.
- Perform pre-task briefs.
- Execute GRAIL validation testing as Test Operations Engineer.
- Document test results and archive test procedures.
- Contribute to Post Test Reports (PTR).
- Develop top-level test procedures in DOORS Next for GRAIL test checkout procedures.
- Perform ground and flight operations testing for hardware with GRAIL documentation.
- Utilize Linux workstations and scripts for lab switch layout.
- Support hardware verification and validation testing.
- Understand and support project testing schedules and documentation.
- Review and track engineering deliverables for project status.
- Interpret CAD drawings and system configurations.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware specifications and delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:
- US Citizenship or Permanent residency due to sensitive information.
- Experience in space industry or DoD work.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or IT.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and power systems.
- Experience with lab operations and documentation.
- Willingness to support rotating second shift hours (3 pm - 11 pm).
DESIRED:
- Knowledge of avionics hardware or flight processes/paperwork.
- Experience with NASA avionics.
WORK LOCATION:
- Onsite location.
- 9/80 schedule, every other Friday off.
- Potential travel required.
