Job summary

ATI is hiring a Test Material Processor for its Cudahy, WI facility to prepare test samples and conduct metallurgical tests using machine tools. You will turn, face, grind, thread, and polish test specimens, and assist with heat-treatment activities in coordination with technicians.

The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass an aptitude test. This is a full-time onsite position with shift options (2nd and 4th).

• Conduct experimental heat treat operations as directed.
• Pickup and deliver test material to designated areas.

We are currently seeking a team-oriented individual to fill the role of Test Material Processor at our Cudahy, WI facility. We are looking for someone with good problem solving and communication skills to prepare test samples through machine tool operation for metallurgical testing and to conduct certain metallurgical tests on various materials and forgings. Applicant must pass aptitude test.

Shift options:

• 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 4th Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Responsibilities

• Layout and section off test material.
• Turning, facing, form grinding, threading of cylindrical test specimens, polishing of test specimens and redlining of test specimens.
• Turning and facing of etch samples and sawing, shaping, milling and surface grinding of rectangular shaped test specimens.
• Preparation of etched samples.
• Produce test specimens through hot working operations of the Hot Compression Tester and related equipment (performed jointly with IFPTE technicians).
• Store, scrap and dispose of production-related test material and acceptance material.
• Experimental heat treat operations.
• Pick up and deliver test material.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must take and pass aptitude test
• Ability to utilize a tape measure

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of machining experience
