Description

You will play a key role in architecting, specifying, designing, developing, validating and launching our touch technology product characterization & instrumentation software and firmware. Working with a wide cross-functional teams on new cutting-edge products, you will enable critical sensor calibration and testing in a high pace & energy product development team. You will be responsible for,Architecting, designing, developing instrumentation hardware, software & firmware platforms required to test and calibrate sensorsProduction instrumentation software creation and roll-out to suppliersAuthoring sensing technology instrumentation engineering requirements documentsPrototyping, bring-up, debug and characterization of instruments for new Apple new productsPreparing and delivering technical presentationsDefect root cause analysis and resolution, including diligent bug database trackingSupplier liaison, including supporting instrumentation bring up and qualification at engineering builds, usually in Asia.

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in related field and minimum of 3 years of relevant experience .
• Experience with Software & Hardware that interfaces & controls instruments
• Experience in one of the following: Software development using C/C++ (embedded & industrial control), and/or Electronics debugging tools (DMM, Oscilloscopes), and/or Circuit & electrical engineering fundamentals (schematics/data sheets)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Objective C and Mac Software development workflows
• Experience in firmware development (knowledge of I2C, SPI, and other protocols) in data acquisition & measurement applications
• Background with Touch or Sensing Technology
• Experience with digital signal processing or image processing
• Experience with using instrument camera and optical capture system as bonus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills to debug and perform failure analysis across a variety of engineering domains
• Experience in design of experiment (DOE) and other problem-solving processes
• Able to understand and perform statistical data analysis (eg. JMP, Minitab, R)
• Able to make international travel to Asia up to 25% of the time

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
