Job description

Are you passionate about quality, detail, and building products that truly work? Do you find satisfaction in spotting bugs that others miss? Do you want to shape the QA function at a rapidly scaling tech startup, working alongside brilliant developers and product builders? Read on.

About laiout

At laiout, we’re on a mission to make office space design radically faster, smarter, and more user-friendly. Our fully automated architectural design platform is used by paying clients around the world to generate millions of square meters of floor plans every month. With our global client base expanding quickly, we need someone obsessed with quality to join our team and own the testing process to ensure the best experience and stability as we scale.

What You’ll Do

Manual Testing:

  • Execute a checklist of critical workflows (e.g. open/generate floor plans, test exports, etc.) to hunt for abnormal behaviors and unexpected bugs in our web app.

  • Get familiar with how the app “should” work - then challenge it or suggest how it can be done better.

  • Document, report, and communicate findings clearly to developers.

Automated Testing (depending on seniority):

  • Write and maintain end-to-end and integration tests (primarily using Cypress and Vitest).

  • Identify repetitive manual steps and propose automations.

  • Build resilient, scalable test scripts for our complex, interactive platform.

What We’re Looking For

Mindset & Traits:

  • Extreme attention to detail and logical reasoning.

  • Passion for testing, quality, and the end-user experience.

  • Enjoys finding bugs and can clearly describe how to reproduce them.

  • Can work independently, but likes being part of a tight-knit, highly technical team.

  • A self-starter that finds meaning in “making things work” and is comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Junior? We welcome recent grads or career-switchers! Manual QA focus; we’ll train you on the rest.

  • Mid/Senior? Experience with Cypress, Vitest, scripting (JS/TS), or similar is a strong plus.

  • Bonus: Experience testing complex, interactive enterprise SaaS products or interest in automation with AI tools.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation with additional equity opportunities

  • Work from anywhere (±3h Oslo time zone); regular team standups

  • The chance to build the QA function from scratch and have outsized impact

  • World-class colleagues, ambitious culture, and the freedom to grow

The Hiring Process
  1. Apply: Send us your CV and a short motivation (why testing? why us?)

  2. Intro Call: Meet us (Simon) for a personality/culture fit chat.

  3. Hands-on Task: We’ll give you access to our dev environment for a brief task.

  4. Final Interview: Deeper technical/culture conversation with our CTO / dev team.

  5. Offer
