Job description

As a Top Secret Test Engineer for this program, you will be working in an organization that’s mission is to develop and operate the best possible software for critical national security enterprise applications. This organization leverages SCRUM and SAFE Agile software development methodology and strong Dev Ops practices.

You will be responsible for creating software tests and automating test cases, performing application testing, validating bugs, and isolating issues; writing and initiating tests and then analyzing and reporting the test results in the ticketing system; and performing configuration management, change management, and release management. You will test high performance and large-scale immersive systems. You will design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met. This position is contingent upon award.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for creating software tests and automating test cases, performing application testing, validating bugs, and isolating issues.
  • Writing and initiating tests and then analyzing and reporting the test results in the ticketing system.
  • Performing configuration management, change management, and release management.
  • Testing high performance and large-scale immersive systems.
  • Evaluating, recommending, and implementing automated test tools and strategies.
  • Designing, implementing, and conducting test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Developing, maintaining, and upgrading automated test scripts and architectures for application products.
  • Writing, implementing, and reporting status for system test cases for testing.
  • Analyzing test cases and providing regular progress reports.
  • Serving as a subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
  • Directing and/or participating in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design, and test tools selection.
  • Designing, planning, creating, executing, and providing System(s) test reports.
  • Reviewing government test plans and test reports for technical competence, effectiveness, and compliance with standards.
  • Observing and evaluating the execution of customer acceptance test activities.
  • Performing integration activities involving developed application software.
  • Identifying and documenting problems and issues, providing specific guidance on root-cause and remediation.
  • Analyzing the requirements for each test event and assisting in the scheduling of the System(s) non-operational environments test assets.
  • Supporting the presentation and formal review or audit of test results, providing briefing and decision support material.
  • Maintaining and providing controls for multiple test software and hardware baselines.

Applies fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments. Performs work that requires practical experience and training. Work is performed under supervision. Minimum of 1 year experience recommended. In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.

A typical day in the life on this program involves:
  • Create manual and automated tests (e.g. unit, integration, static, performance, validation and verification, etc.)
  • Prepare test plans and scenarios; create test data; execute functional tests and document results.
  • Validate successful implementation of documented requirements.
Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or other related field. In absence of degree, additional years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements.

Top Secret with SCI Eligibility.

Minimum Years of Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

  • Java, JavaScript, Python, SQL.
  • GitLab, JFROG Artifactory and Xray, Splunk, Hashicorp Vault, Boundary, Consul, Terraform, Nexus, JIRA, Crucible, Jenkins, Ansible and Ansible Tower.
  • AWS Certification(s).
