Your Role: Junior OT Cybersecurity Engineer

Reporting to the OT Director, Elanco Central Engineering; the Junior OT Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for providing cybersecurity services for operational technology (OT) within Elanco global manufacturing environments. You will interface with Elanco Information Security and other IT functions while working closely with process automation and engineering teams at all manufacturing sites globally to improve the security and reliability of OT systems and networks. This is a critical role for Elanco, shaping the future of the company for compliant and secure OT systems. The position offers an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate and develop your OT cybersecurity capability in a supportive multidisciplinary environment.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the development, planning and execution of the OT Cybersecurity Program, including technical influence and ownership responsibilities for assigned program initiatives.
2. Lead and coach multidisciplinary teams at sites globally for assigned program initiatives.
3. Work with Elanco Information Security, other IT teams, and local OT resources globally to provide input for the OT cybersecurity strategy.
4. Write, review, and maintain standards, procedures, training plans, and best practices governing the cybersecurity requirements for the OT environment for assigned program initiatives.
5. Develop cybersecurity technology implementation strategies for OT environments with clear understanding of differences between IT and OT environments (e.g. 24x7 production model, safety and environmental risk, patching and AV processes, etc.) for assigned program initiatives.
6. Establish metrics and key performance indicators to monitor overall health and effectiveness of the OT cybersecurity program for assigned program initiatives.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

Education: Bachelor or Higher in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science.

2 Top Skills: Strong technical depth, curiosity and decision making, and communication and influence to gain support and confidence in a technical agenda.

Organizational influence and collaboration.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

Preferred 5 plus years of experience in a regulated industry, for example FDA, EMA (EU GMP), Animal Health, Pharmaceutical, Critical Infrastructure, or Biotech manufacturing environment.

Experience: Prior working experience with ICS systems (Rockwell, Siemens, or Emerson preferred) in a manufacturing environment.

Previous exposure to OT/IT cybersecurity practices and tools.

Additional Information:

This position serves an 8-hour Monday through Friday flexible work schedule. Situations may arise where off-schedule work, both on-site and off-site may be required. Domestic and international travel required on a periodic basis to visit manufacturing sites and suppliers.

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $91,500.00 to $122,500.00 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
