Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant technical experience.
• Working knowledge of engineering principles applicable to structural testing, mechanics, instrumentation, and measurement systems.
• Experience with data acquisition, test instrumentation, data analysis, and technical reporting.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications, engineering drawings, test standards, and technical requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Sound project-management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a hands-on laboratory environment.
• High level of initiative, accountability, sound judgment, and commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain structural testing capabilities, equipment, instrumentation, and procedures that support internal and external customer requirements.
• Lead the technical execution of structural testing programs from requirements review and test planning through test completion, data analysis, and final reporting.
• Develop and implement safe, reliable, and efficient test setups using appropriate methods, fixturing, instrumentation, data acquisition, and measurement techniques.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and infrastructure through calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrade, and replacement activities.
• Evaluate customer specifications and testing requirements to determine technical feasibility and recommend appropriate testing approaches.
• Collaborate with customers, engineers, technicians, suppliers, and other stakeholders to support clear communication and successful project execution.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and training to laboratory technicians and less-experienced engineers.
• Identify and implement improvements that enhance laboratory safety, quality, repeatability, efficiency, data integrity, and testing capabilities.
