Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Test Engineer II to join our Navy prime contractor team, focusing on power controls and power conversion systems for submarine programs used by the US Navy.

You will design and implement test programs, write procedures, debug test hardware and software, and review customer specs to deliver robust, cost-effective designs. A secret clearance or the ability to obtain one is required; relocation and on-site work in Wisconsin may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High power experience (450 volts +) and 3-phase power experience.
• More electric than hydraulic or mechanical systems.
• Motor and power flow experience.
• Acoustic, vibration, and shock experience critical to current program.
• LabVIEW, NI, MATLAB familiarity; not all required.
• Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test programs to evaluate product functionality, integrity, and reliability.
• Write and execute test procedures and protocols to ensure products meet performance standards.
• Debug and troubleshoot test hardware and software.
• Use computer-aided engineering and analysis tools for design tasks.
• Review customer specifications and develop cost-effective designs to meet requirements.
• Specify and assess supplier components, subsystems, and services.
• Provide input on budgets, costs, and schedules for design assignments.
• Develop prototypes to mitigate development risks.
• Regularly report progress and status.
