Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech is seeking a Test Engineer II in Ann Arbor, MI to own the entire testing lifecycle for defined energy subsystems within the UAS platform. You will create verification plans, coordinate with mechanical, electrical, software, and flight test teams, and drive issue resolution across the product lifecycle.

The role requires 2–4 years in systems engineering, proficiency with Python and MATLAB/Simulink, and experience with MIL-STD test procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with systems focus is required.
• 2–4 years of experience in systems engineering or multidisciplinary engineering.
• Experience with environmental tests (vibration, shock, thermal cycling).
• Experience developing test environments (bench setups, chambers, HILs).
• Familiar with verification planning, test procedures, and data evaluation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and component datasheets.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD test procedures (704, 705, 810; EMI/EMC preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own complete test operations from plan creation to report generation.
• Operate and troubleshoot bench instrumentation and DUTs with emphasis on performance.
• Automate repetitive tests using Python or similar tools.
• Collaborate with design engineers on test plans, SOPs, and test hardware/software.
• Ensure testing produces traceable, auditable evidence for requirements.
• Provide direction to technicians for test fabrication and execution.
• Contribute to process improvements and documentation traceability.
• Maintain strong documentation discipline and version control.
• Identify system-level impacts from component decisions.
