Job summary

RTX is offering a hands-on internship/co-op with the Pratt & Whitney team focused on engine development, assembly, and testing across commercial, military, and industrial lines in a U.S.-based facility. You will gain exposure to engine systems, instrumentation, data acquisition, and validation through analytic tools and on-site testing.

You will learn how aircraft engines operate as a system, how they are validated, and you will build system-level knowledge of engine assembly, instrumentation

Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science & Technology.
  • Active enrollment through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for development engine assembly and test across P&W product lines.
  • Support assembly plans and instrumentation requirements coordination and data management.
  • Participate in discipline improvement activities and knowledge management.
  • Work with assembly support teams to assist engine builds and tests.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide engineering support for development engine assembly and test across the P&W product lines (Commercial, Military, and Industrial), while focusing on engine systems functional understanding, learning and validation through both analytical tools and data acquisition from testing.
  • Support assembly plans and coordination, instrumentation requirements coordination, assembly procedure development & methods, on-site and test coverage, test data management and validation.
  • Active participation in discipline improvement activities and knowledge management.
  • Work with assembly support teams to support engine builds and tests.
  • Off-shift and weekend work may occur to gain test coverage experience.
What You Will Learn:
  • Develop an understanding of how aircraft engines operate as a system and how they are validated for use in the commercial and military applications
  • Develop an initial understanding of the engine system, including assembly and test
  • Build system level knowledge of engine assembly, instrumentation installation and overall jet engine function.
Qualifications you must have:
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Science & Technology and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Relocation Eligibility

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility. The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
